UAE telecom giant du is now accepting payments through cryptocurrency, Arabian Business understands.
Customers can now opt to pay their du bills via Apple Pay or Samsung Pay, via debit or credit card and cryptocurrency.
The company did not respond to Arabian Business’ request for a comment.
UAE Central Bank issues new crypto law
The UAE Central Bank will allow only dirham-backed stablecoins for purchasing goods and services in the Emirates, which is expected to come into effect this year.
Major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, and USD-backed stablecoins like Tether, won’t be allowed for regular payments (except in financial free zones).
