The RAK Half Marathon is set to return for its 18th edition on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The event will take place under the patronage of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
Hosted by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), the race will feature four distinct categories catering to runners of all abilities:
- Half Marathon (21.1km) – Starting at 7 AM
- 10km Road Race – Starting at 9 AM
- 5km Road Race – Starting at 9 AM
- 2km Fun Run – Starting at 10 AM
Registration is currently open until January 31. The Half Marathon entry is priced at AED 185 ($50), while the 10km, 5km, and 2km races are available at AED 110 ($30), AED 74 ($20), and AED 37 ($10) respectively.
Race day essentials
Number collection
Participants can collect their run numbers at two locations:
- Dubai Media City (The Agenda): January 27-28, 2025 (10 AM – 8 PM)
- RAKTDA Grounds, Ras Al Khaimah: January 30-31, 2025 (10 AM – 8 PM)
Runner support
- The event organisers have implemented comprehensive support systems including:
- Water stations every 2.5km from the 5km mark for half marathon runners
- Ion Supply Drink (Pocari Sweat) available at 5km, 10km, 15km, and finish points
- Medical stations with ambulance services at key points throughout the course
- Baggage facilities near the start and finish area for half marathon and 10km participants
Race day experience
Runners can expect optimal racing conditions with temperatures ranging from 10-15 degrees Celsius at the start. The event will utilise the MikaTag electronic timing system for accurate race timing, with chips attached to race bib numbers.
Entertainment and amenities
The Half Marathon Village will feature live bands and various activities throughout the day, creating a festive atmosphere for both participants and spectators. Food and beverage facilities will be available on-site.

- Downloadable certificate (finisher’s certificate for half marathon and 10km, participation certificate for 5km and 2km)
The RAK Half Marathon 2024 edition saw record-breaking performances, with Kenya’s Daniel Mateiko clinching the men’s title in 58:45, while Ethiopia’s Tsigie Gebreselama dominated the women’s race with a personal best of 65:14.
